The STARS Golf Society
Our Mission
The STARS Golf Society was established to unite golfers across the entire technology industry - with the name representing Software, Technology, Analytics, Recruitment, and Services (including the technology/management consulting, media, and channel/reseller sectors too).
Our mission is to foster a professional but informal atmosphere for networking, where professionals can connect through golf events, engage in friendly competition, have some fun, and support charity initiatives along the way.
Golf Day Venues
We look for venues that make it inclusive for golfers of all playing abilities. Our goal is to find locations that attract all types of golfers, within easy reach for most, and offering a suitable challenge without adding to the difficulties of the game we love. We also aim to book venues that provide excellent networking opportunities within the technology industry, ensuring that even if you are having a bad day at the office, you can enjoy a pleasant walk on the course!

West Hill Golf Club - Thursday 21st May 2026
This is going to be very repetitive - "We have been so lucky with weather and our most recent event was no different"
This was the opening line from our event summary in October and March, and we've managed to do it again! A cloudy start but then glorious sunshine all day, and yet more new faces joining us at West Hill Golf Club in Surrey.
We once again had players travelling from various parts of the UK, with some flying in from Italy to join us on the day too. In all, 40 players graced us with their presence, including 18 making their debut at a STARS event, and we are grateful to all those that made the effort.
Thank you to all the businesses that offered support for us at this event - DLL, Rigby Capital, Live Story, Stripe, DQ Global and Qlik - your support is invaluable to us.
One of our key supporters Howard Dudley (DLL) had a comfortable 3 point victory in the Singles event, with Neil Simmons (ex-IBM) and Tom Bowyer (Rigby Capital) also getting on the podium. Paul Crisp (Oracle), Neil Munslow (Oracle), Ian Woolner (Crayon) and Neil Simmons won the Team Event, pipping 3 other teams on countback (back 6). Jeremy Straker (Amplience) won the Nearest the Pin on the 7th hole, Ross Williams won the Nearest The Pin on the 13th, and Neil Atherton (Nutanix) won the Longest Drive on the 10th.
Another memorable day for some fun in the sun, and a mixture of golfing skills on display - we will be back in 2027!
Charity Auction
Wow! What a day for findraising - £7k+ raised for the Honeypot Children's Charity - fantastic!
Prizes on offer included golf at Sunningdale, hospitality at Epsom Derby, and a host of 4-ball vouchers.
